Creating a character shouldn't be to hard, but I have instated some rules to make it challenging. For starters, regular applications need to be at least 350 words. I will check them, so don't try and cheat. However, there are lots of categories to fill out, so that should help you. Also, don't get frustrated if your character is accepted right away. You may create as many characters as you want, but if you do get a dragon, that's the only one you get, and you must have a rider. I don't care if you play the rider of if someone else does, but the dragon will have a rider.
Here is an example character:
This actually is one of my characters and that profile is 554 words long. Now, 350 doesn't seem that bad does it? Read on for more!
There are several races to choose from when creating a character. Here they are along with some basic information:
Humans- By far the most common, the tend to do the most extraordinary things. Their height generally ranges from 5'2" to about 6" but they might be taller or shorter than that. Their eyes are nearly any natural shade as is their hair, but in the North they tend to be paler than their southern relations who have much darker skin, eyes, and hair sometimes. They almost never know magic unless someone else teaches them and they can only work very basic spells. They may side with any group and aren't generally known to have any set way of acting.
Elves- Usually keeping to their forest of Du Weldenvarden, Elves are taller, more graceful, and more beautiful than any human. Even the untrained elf could defeat any veteran human easily because of their strength, speed, and smarts. They are powerful magic workers and their eyes are generally entrancing, coming in better versions than that of humans. Although they may have any hair color, they tend to either have black or blonde hair.
Dwarves- Stout beings, they live in the Beor Mountains, befriending the Varden and humans, if grudgingly. They will listen to their king no matter what. They prefer to work with stone and gems than to fight wars or ride dragons or horses, but their weapons are rivaled only by the Elves.
Werecats- These are strange creatures who can transform from cat to human and back at any time. They generally are small humans, looking more like wild children than anything, and they always stick out from others. They tend to be independent though sometimes helpful if they feel like it or if asked in just the right way.
Dragons- The most powerful of all creatures, only a few now exist. They are powerful in magic and in strength with the ability to fly and breath fire. They can only actually work magic if they have a Rider however. Their scales may be any color as can their claws, spikes, eyes, and the inside lining of their wings.
The new Empire- An evil force rising up unseen. Little is known about them but they have captured Dras Leona and Gil'ead as their strongholds, barring the way through the Hadarac Desert or to the Du Weldenvarden and the Beor Mountans, cutting off all but the Spine and that general area. No one knows who their leader is.
Dragon Riders- They are only two now, but perhaps more shall soon arise from Saphira's eggs. They are more powerful than any other being alive and are against the Empire, all ready causing its defeat once.
Varden- A rebel group that never disbanded when the first Empire was defeated, they work by themselves mostly and with the dwarves, but technically their on the side of any one else who wants to see the Empire destoryed. Surda generally helps them.
Neutral- Anyone who is not involved in the fighting but tries to stay out of the way and hopes for the best; generally hate the Empire but tend not to voice this opinion.
Here is an example character:
Name
Isiria Ciri
-It means "the heart of Ciri" as she is the daughter of Ciri.
Age
She is 27 years old, still very, very young for an Elf.
Race
Elf
Height
Five foot and eleven inches.
Weight
138 pounds
Gender
Female
Appearance
Isiria is a tall elf with long legs and a slender figure. Her hair is a glossy black, and it falls nearly to her waist. It is straight and she styles it in many ways, including braids, ponytails, buns, and sometimes she just wears a headband to keep it out of her face. Her eyes are almond shaped and are a bright vivid green that remind one of a cat. Her ears are pointed, like all Elves are, and her skin is fair and smooth, nearly flawless. On her lower back is an indigo tattoo that she shows to no one.
Personality
She has a wild, fiery streak and she is not afraid to speak her mind nor jump into things without thinking them through. She is very opinionated and has trouble keeping quiet, so her mouth often times gets her in trouble. Isiria is a friendly woman, kind and caring, and she, though not quick to give out her trust, is quick to befriend a person. She is hard to truly anger, and once she is mad, she takes a long time to settle down. She tends to hold grudges as well. Other than that, she really is quite emotional and her moods change as quickly as one blinks an eye. At times she is hard to understand and sometimes her logic isn't very...well, logical. To say the least, it is hard to follow.
Relations
Isiria's mother is Ciri, who is the daughter of Eragon and Arya. This makes Eragon her grandfather, Arya her grandmother, and queen Izlanzadi her great-grandmother. Isiria is of royal parentage .
History
She never met Arya, who died, unfortunately, when Ciri was young do to an natural accident, but she grew up close to both Eragon and her mother Ciri along with their dragons Saphira and Olanis. She has not attended any egg ceremonies yet, because her mother does not think that she is ready yet to take on the responsibilities of a dragon rider, should she be chosen.
Weapons
She is skilled in archery and has a long bow made of smooth black wood. Her arrows are black shafted with white feathers, and she has two long knives with handles that gleam like snow. The blades are silver and were given to her by her father.
Magic
Isiria has yet to master magic, but she is very skilled in working with water. Her mother and Eragon occassionally give her lessons and she works hard to understand them, eager to be able to use her magic to its full potential.
Pets
She has a white horse named Ellea and a cat that is also white named Raelin. Sometimes a hawk accompanies her, but he comes and goes and she never knows where he is at.
Side
She is, obviously, on the good side along with the Varden and the Dragon Riders.
Place of Birth and Current Residence
Ellesmera and she still lives in the Elven capital city with her mother.
Other
She is to attend her first egg ceremony when the next one takes place.
